Welcome from the Director

I want to personally thank you for taking the time to review our Water and Climate Program Products and Services Briefing Book.

Some of the material in this book may be familiar to you, such as the Snow Survey and Water Supply Forecasting Program which was established in the western U.S. nearly 60 years ago. Other national activities, such as our Soil Moisture/Soil Temperature Pilot Project, PRISM-derived spatial/GIS digital climate maps, and participation in the Unified Climate Access Network are exciting opportunities to provide new or enhanced products requested by our users. Several other promising new activities are also highlighted.
