Greg Johnson (NRCS) sometime ago completed a master processing of the adjusted wind database based on the TD-6421 dataset.

There are 361 (mostly) first class stations (lower 48 states) in this unique dataset.  Some of the parameters include: 

Velocity (speeds) are in m/s not mph.

The 667 files contained in these folders are daily wind averages from 1961-1990 based on hourly observations.
